Nagel Boys

This is probably the cutest picture of Sam that I've seen.

Careful, James!  You don't want to get on Shube's Grip List.

Christmas '11

What happened to us this past Christmas.  I just looked back in the blog and I guess I just didn't post much.  So here's a few pics and comments.

Santa (Shube's builder) came to our house for Christmas. Lucy talked about how scared she was of him for weeks. "Santa.  SCAWEE!"

Ben decided it would be a good idea to make this face in most of his Christmas pictures.  A good time was had with the Nagel family this year at Christmas.

Fourth graders at our church get help in lighting the advent candles at Christmas time.  Ben did the midnight Christmas Eve service.  It seemed like a good idea at the time.  He did great, but by the end he was pretty tired.

Our little Lucy Ruth turned 2 after this Christmas as well.  We are thankful for all of God's Christmas blessings.

Back, by popular demand

The votes are in and the "nays" have it.  It was good to hear from some of you that you would be disappointed if we stopped blogging.  Here is my short list on why I'm going to continue.
  • I went through the photos on our camera yesterday and I hadn't done anything with any of them since Christmas.
  • One of my good friends, when he found out that I was quitting, alluded to the fact that it was me giving up and that it might be a sign of stagnancy in my life.
  • Last night at church, good friends questioned why I was quitting and graciously challenged my answers.
  • Amanda and I wondered what we would do with our memories if we didn't have the blog.
So, we're back.  Thanks for reading.

Thanks for reading

This is the end of a four year journey on our blog.  During that time, we've added two new lives to our family.  Another will arrive, Lord willing, in August.  We have shared much with you and have appreciated you journeying with us in this way.  From all of the Gammons family, thanks for reading.

It's a boy

We went for Amanda's twenty week ultrasound this morning and found out that our little one is a boy.  We are very excited.  Both Amanda and I were a little shocked as we were both expecting a girl.  Our boys are really jazzed and Molly cried.  She really wanted another sister.  That only lasted for a few minutes though.

We are all so thankful to God for his mercy to us in giving us what appears to be another healthy child.

The Last of Our Little Boys

As Matthew begins to lose his baby teeth, it reminds us that he is the last of our little boys.  At least for now . . . Amanda finds out what she is having in a couple of weeks.

Country Livin': The Coon

On Saturday Matt and I were going out to have a fire, just the two of us.  On the way, he stopped to feed the cats.  He ran out of the shed and said, "Dad, I think there's a coon in the cat barn."  So I went up and got the old 22 and headed out.  Two shells later, we were in the garage skinning our first coon.  It was a great adventure and another affirmation of why we bought the farm.  Our hope is to tan the hide and for Matt to eventually have himself a real coonskin cap.  Just call me Davy Crocket.
