Matthew the Fisherman

I love this picture of Matthew.  He caught this bass when we were down in Indiana visiting Tricia and Alex and their family.  Matt was very proud.  He had to man-up and grab the bass by the lip for the picture.  He did a great job.

Daddy and his girl

Lucy has become such a sweetheart.  Whenever I come home, she is one of the first to run, grab my neck and give me a huge hug.  She loves to hug her daddy, but refuses to give me even the smallest kiss.  Girl's got opinion, okay!  I always love how my relationship with each individual kid grows and changes as they get older.  Right now, Lucy is definitely Daddy's girl.

Easter Recap

What?  Is it too late to celebrate Easter?  I loved looking through these pictures.  All of us were out sitting in front of a roaring campfire in our coats as the kids did an Easter egg hunt.

Amanda had the kids dressed adorably.

It was a wonderful time celebrating our risen Lord.

Nagel Boys

This is probably the cutest picture of Sam that I've seen.

Careful, James!  You don't want to get on Shube's Grip List.

Christmas '11

What happened to us this past Christmas.  I just looked back in the blog and I guess I just didn't post much.  So here's a few pics and comments.

Santa (Shube's builder) came to our house for Christmas. Lucy talked about how scared she was of him for weeks. "Santa.  SCAWEE!"

Ben decided it would be a good idea to make this face in most of his Christmas pictures.  A good time was had with the Nagel family this year at Christmas.

Fourth graders at our church get help in lighting the advent candles at Christmas time.  Ben did the midnight Christmas Eve service.  It seemed like a good idea at the time.  He did great, but by the end he was pretty tired.

Our little Lucy Ruth turned 2 after this Christmas as well.  We are thankful for all of God's Christmas blessings.

Back, by popular demand

The votes are in and the "nays" have it.  It was good to hear from some of you that you would be disappointed if we stopped blogging.  Here is my short list on why I'm going to continue.
  • I went through the photos on our camera yesterday and I hadn't done anything with any of them since Christmas.
  • One of my good friends, when he found out that I was quitting, alluded to the fact that it was me giving up and that it might be a sign of stagnancy in my life.
  • Last night at church, good friends questioned why I was quitting and graciously challenged my answers.
  • Amanda and I wondered what we would do with our memories if we didn't have the blog.
So, we're back.  Thanks for reading.
