We're getting back into the swing of things for Fall. That means HOTW. This is my mom's all-time favorite hymn. It's a very different melody, but I like it too. Check out the video of George Beverly Shea singing this hymn below. It's from 1962. He doesn't look a day over 75.
Also, check out the girl at 1:38. I don't think she's going to go down front at the end of the service. HA!!

When I married Don it opened up a whole new world of music for me and I can remember the first time I heard George Beverly Shea sing on the radio. I loved it and Don did too. Thank you for posting this wonderful old hymn. I'm not even sure why I love it so...just do! The chorus always makes me tear up, especially the "Only His great eternal love made my Savior go" part. I'll never get over that He did that for me or completely understand it, but I'm so thankful!

Gotta say a word about Bev Shea too. There are few gospel singers that I've heard over the years that can equal his ability to deliver a message in song. It's clear, it's heart-felt, and it avoids all the fancy (and distracting!) frills that so many singers think are necessary. God bless him! He's left a great legacy.
