A Busy Little Guy
Nathan is now ultra mobile. He is getting around and getting into everything. He is figuring out how to express more of his opinions as well. He is still full of smiles and likes to pull out his tricks: waving hello, pointing at the basketball hoop, clapping and pat-a-cake. He'll get a little taste of that from this video.

Nathan John at 5 Months Old
He's gotten some teeth which has made for some crabby periods. He's moved into the pack-and-play in our room. He's not sleeping as well as he used to, but he sure is a sweet little guy. We have loved every moment of our time with him. How couldn't you when this is the smile that he flashes when he wakes up. Puffy eyes, blurred vision, and a huge smile. His brothers and sisters can't get enough of him. They fight to see who gets to hold him. We are so thankful for the latest addition to our family. We love you Nate Dogg!

Tired Nathan
Nathan hasn't been feeling quite up to snuff lately. He has finally gotten the cold that was going through our house. We had some people over this weekend and he wasn't really that into it. He decided to just sleep through most of it. He sure is sweet!

Nathan John at 3 Months
He's starting to wear clothes and not just pj's. He continues to be a wonderful addition to the Gammons Fam. Laid back, smiley, and very, very sweet.

Super Sweet
This is who Amanda and I get to go to sleep with every night. God is amazingly good to us. Every night after he has a little snack, we lay together and talk to him. He smiles and laughs and smiles some more and eventually gets tired. We turn out the lights and call it a day. It's a good life.

First Day of School 2012
When mom is also teacher, it complicates things sometimes, especially when mom is recovering from a cesarean section. It also simplifies certain things as well. Getting all of the kids ready to start at the neighborhood school I think would have been pretty difficult over the last few weeks. Today was the first day of school for us though. Amanda started off slowly with just jumping into math today. I will begin history on Thursday. We'll see how things go.
This year we added Molly, our fourth pupil to the Gammons home school. She is very excited. I asked her at lunch how it went and if she like it. She said she loved it. She said she has her own math book.
We look forward to another grace-filled year of educating our kids at home. Amanda is amazing in her patience, strength and skill. The class is full of great students. You can see the class roster below.

And these words that I command you today shall be on your heart. You shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, and when you walk by the way, and when you lie down, and when you rise. You shall bind them as a sign on your hand, and they shall be as frontlets between your eyes. You shall write them on the doorposts of your house and on your gates. (Deuteronomy 6:6-9 ESV)
Big Brother, Little Brother
All of the kids have been very helpful since Nathan has come. Ben has especially enjoyed toting him around in the Baby Bjorn. Here are some pics.

Nathan at Three Weeks
It's been a wonderful and difficult three weeks. Amanda went to the doctor on Tuesday and got the all clear that she's ready to return to her normal activity level. We're all thankful for that. Nathan is nursing well, but does not seem to be gaining a lot of weight. He's to go into the doctor tomorrow for a weight check. We'll see. I reflected this morning on how different it is this time around. When Benjamin was born, I was freaking out by this time. With Nathan, I am thankful that God has enabled me to trust him more and to rest in his care for us.
Get a load of how cute he was this morning when we woke him up to eat!

Nathan video
Here's another video from when we were in the hospital. I love all of his little sounds. Everyone is doing well here. Amanda is up and around and Nathan is feeding well. We went to the doctor's yesterday and he is gaining weight well. I go back to work tomorrow.
The weather here has been amazing so the kids and I have been spending a lot of time outside. Matthew found a crab apple tree on our property a few days ago. Today we picked a bunch and made crabapple sauce. Yummo! The end of summer is a wonderful time on the farm. It's a great time to have been born.

The Birth of Nathan John
I'm able to blog from my iPad now so, you should be seeing some more posts coming this week. Here are the stats on our little guy.
Nathan John was born at 9:31AM. He was 8lbs 12 oz and 21 inches long. Amanda was super happy because they allowed him to be with her the whole time during the surgery. When he came out they did the quick eye goop and the vitamin k shot and then he was back at Amanda's head. Usually they have taken the kids to the nursery to do all of this.
Things went pretty well in the hospital. Amanda had some major bleeding immediately after we go into our room, but they were able to get that under control with some medicine. It was a little scary, but we are thankful everyone is all right.
We're home now and glad to be. I'll write more soon about the other kids and their reactions to their new brother. Thanks for all of you that prayed for us in the last few days.

Introducing, Nathan John
We are so thankful to God for his blessing of our new son, Nathan John. He is very sweet and looks like an interesting mix of all of our other boys. Amanda is doing well after the surgery. She is already up and out of bed. I am amazed by her and even more the strength and protection that God gives to her. Thank you for your prayers for us. Many more pictures to come as I'm able.
