This weekend my friend Jason came over and we pulled apart a tin roof that had collapsed on one of the out buildings. We threw around the sledge hammer and the boys stacked all the wood into piles. Then we needed to pull down a large branch that had fallen (about 14" diameter) and was leaning against a tree. We weren't going to be able to pull it down by ourselves so we tied a rope around it and tied the rope to his little Saturn car. We got it down, but the limb got the better of the Saturn. It just wouldn't pull it.
UPDATE:
I'm with Bill and my mom. I think I do need a new John Deere tractor. What my research, the JD 2305 would be a good choice. Click on this link to see what one of these runs you. I should put a donate button on the side. Then watch the videos below to see this thing at work. Looks like fun.

Fire FTW!
My father has a couple acres and he bought a tractor to do the lawn mowing as well as moving heavy earth/rocks. That's what you need next.
Sweet. Did you buy some chaps for protection?
CLIMBED THE TREE WITH A CHAIN SAW!!!! My comment is along the same line as Tricia's but with just a bit more motherly drama:) Be careful Andrew! You don't want to make another hospital trip so soon after the ankle incident.

P.S. Congratulations on being a chain saw owner. I'm with Bill...a small tractor/gator will be next
I'm looking forward to seeing the boys on just such a vehicle! It will be deja vu! I remember Gregg riding the mower in Atlanta and watching him pull the seat down with one hand when he turned the corner because he didn't weigh enough to keep the "safety" feature from turning the engine off as he rounded the bend!
$11,000!!!!!! HOLY SMOKES! That pays for a year at a state university...a cheap one! What ever happened to the multiple shovel routine:)

My dad's tractor looks like this: http://www.littlebluetractor.com/page3.html
It was $6,000 used.
This all seems like great fun to me. Especially the power tools and tractors. I remember Uncle Gerald letting me drive his huge, old tractor up at his Michigan farm...until I ran over a section of fence leading into the cow pen.
We REALLY can't wait for a cozy Christmas at the farm...
We'll expect Max to have some double-bladed ice skates and to take his first trip to the ice on our pond! :) Providence Farm = COZY!
Are you calling it Providence Farm?? I love that!
