Hymn of the Week--The Love of God

Per Dave's suggestion, this weeks hymn is The Love of God.

"Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or danger, or sword? No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. For I am sure that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord."
Romans 8: 35 & 37-39

Hymn of the Week
 The Love of God
Words & music by Fredrick M. Lehman
The love of God is greater far
Than tongue or pen can ever tell;
It goes beyond the highest star,
And reaches to the lowest hell;
The guilty pair, bowed down with care,
God gave His Son to win;
His erring child He reconciled,
And pardoned from his sin.
Refrain
O love of God, how rich and pure!
How measureless and strong!
It shall forevermore endure
The saints’ and angels’ song.

Thanks for posting a stanza of "The Love of God," a great gospel song. Today is the 141st anniversary of the birth of the author, Frederich Lehman. (He wrote all but the stunning final stanza, which is centuries older.) To find out more, you can check my blog, Wordwise Hymns.
